2019 SUMMER TAX BILLS
The City of Farmington Hills 2019 Summer Tax Bills will be mailed on or about June 28, 2019. They are payable from July 1, 2019 through September 3, 2019 without penalty. Payment must be received by September 3, 2019. Postmarks are not accepted. A 4% penalty will be added starting September 1st along with 1/2% interest per month. If you do not receive your tax bill by July 16th, please contact the Treasurer's office at 248-871-2480.
By law, failure to receive a tax bill does not waive tax or penalty. Tax bills are not forwarded by the Post Office, unless it is a temporary forwarding order only. The Treasurer's Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for July 4th to accept payment.
Drop boxes are located by the Police Station, next to the mail boxes, and near the front entrance to City Hall.
Checks are accepted as conditional payment. If checks are not honored by the bank, taxes are unpaid and subject to any and all penalties.
Applications for deferment of 2019 summer taxes for qualified persons are available at the link below or at the Treasurer's Office. Applications must be filed by September 13, 2019.
Summer Property Taxes
Summer property taxes are mailed on or about July 1 of each year. Payment may be made without penalty and interest from July 1 through August 31. After August 31 a four per cent (4%) penalty and a one-half per cent (1/2%) interest charge is added per month. Delinquent summer property taxes may be paid at the Treasury office until February 28. When the due date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, or a holiday recognized by the City, we consider your return to be filed on time if we receive it on the City's next regular business day.
Deferment of summer property taxes until February 14 is available for eligible senior citizens and handicapped persons. Application forms are available at the link below or at the City's Treasury Division at City Hall and must be filed by September 14 of the tax year.

Winter Property Taxes
Winter property taxes are mailed on or about December 1 of each year. Payment may be made without penalty and interest from December 1 through February 14. After February 14 four per cent (4%) is added. Delinquent winter property taxes may be paid at the Treasury office until February 28. When the due date falls on a Saturday, a Sunday, or a holiday recognized by the City, we consider your return to be filed on time if we receive it on the City's next regular business day.
From March 1 through March 31 delinquent property taxes should be remitted to Oakland County Treasurer, 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac MI 48341 after obtaining a revised statement from the City of Farmington Hills Treasury Division. After March 31, payments may be sent to Oakland County without a revised statement.
Payments of current property taxes may also be made at the drop box slot located near the Orchard Lake Road entrance to City Hall or in the beige box in front of the Police Department.
