The Department of Public Services is the second largest
Department in the City. It is responsible for what are often
referred to as the "meat and potatoes" of City Government. This
includes many of the basic services that, if done correctly, our
residents take for granted. This includes Roads and Roadways;
Watermains and Sanitary Sewers; Rubbish Removal and Recycling.
In addition, the DPS also maintains many of the City's public
buildings, two historic cemeteries, and reviews, coordinates and
inspects the private site plans that are built throughout the
City.
The Department is staffed with graduate
engineers and highly skilled technicians and inspectors as well as
equipment operators and various support staff. Our goal is to
provide our service to the community in a professional and
competent manner. Our biggest compliment is to have our residents
just "assume and expect" it will get done without having to
complain. We are proud of our City and will constantly strive to
improve and keep it a model of beauty and efficiency.
