2012 Road Construction
2012-13
Road Construction Map
- 14 Mile Road from east of Haggerty Road to Drake Road – This
section of roadway will be rehabilitated from June through
September. The work includes the addition of a center turn lane,
reconstruction, resurfacing, and sidewalk installation. 14 Mile
Road will remain open to traffic for the majority of the
project.
- Orchard Lake Road from 13 Mile Road to 14 Mile Road – The Road
Commission for Oakland County (RCOC) is responsible for all of
Orchard Lake Road, including this section which will be
resurfaced this summer. For questions or concerns, call RCOC
Citizen Services at 248-858-4804.
- Northwestern Highway (M-10) from Orchard Lake Road to Beck Road
(City of Southfield) – The Michigan Department of Transportation
(MDOT) will be resurfacing this section of roadway this summer.
MDOT’s intent is to minimize road traffic delays and to focus
most of the resurfacing work during night hours.
- 8 Mile Road from Grand River Avenue to Telegraph Road – MDOT
will be resurfacing this section of roadway starting this
summer. 8 Mile Road will remain open to traffic during
construction; however there will be lane closures. Some night
work may occur.
- Independence Avenue from Middlebelt Road to Waldron – This
capital improvement project consists of water main replacement,
road rehabilitation, and installation of sidewalk. Construction
will start in July.
- Road Improvement Special Assessment Districts – Holly Hill
Farms, Glenbrook, Springland, and LaMuera Estates Subdivisions
will have their roads reconstructed this summer.

2012 Concrete Replacement/Patching Program
The 2012 Concrete Replacement/Patching Program will begin in
mid-May and continue through late June.
