City Manager Steve Brock is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the City, including overseeing all departments and implementing City policies that are approved by City Council.

Steve Brock came to the City of Farmington Hills as an Assistant to the City Manager in 1989, became Assistant City Manager in 1993 and was appointed by City Council as City Manager in 1998. He previously served as Northville Township Manager, Village Administrator for Hortonville, Wisconsin, and as an Economic Analyst for the State of Wisconsin. He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin.

As City Manager, his first priority is customer service. “We treat people well and we listen to them,” says Brock. Economic development is also high on his priority list. Steve Brock can be reached at (248) 871-2500 or via email.

 


 

Dana Whinnery, Assistant City Manager

Dana Whinnery was appointed Assistant City Manager in 1998 after serving 12 years as the City’s Human Resources Director. He is responsible for coordinating activities among City departments, and serves as liaison to citizen groups, and local, state, and federal officials. He also coordinates special projects and research studies, and resolves citizen complaints. He is a graduate of Arizona State University and was previously employed as Senior Personnel Representative for the University of Michigan.

Teri Arbenowske, Assistant to the City Manager

Economic Development Director

Teri Arbenowske, Economic Development Director, functions as an ombudsman for new, expanding, and established businesses in our City. Her role is to seek out new economic opportunities by recruiting businesses to Farmington Hills. She also works to retain existing businesses by helping to meet their need to expand or their desire to prosper in the community. Teri has been with the City Manager's office since 1997, when she was hired as the City's first Economic Development Coordinator. She has been a local government professional in Oakland County Communities for 23 years and is a graduate of Oakland University. Teri currently serves on the Michigan Municipal League's Land Use and Economic Development Committee.

Nate Geinzer, Management Assistant
Nate Geinzer
Management Assistant

Nate Geinzer, Management Assistant, joined the City of Farmington Hills Management Team in late 2007. He has a diverse set of responsibilities including special projects, policy research and development, and legislative affairs. He functions as a liaison to residents, helping to resolve citizen concerns and promote City initiatives. Nate is a graduate of Eastern Michigan University with a Master’s Degree in Public Administration. He has served in municipal government since 2005 and was previously employed by the cities of Brighton and Berkley.
