Fall Leaves and RakeFall Yard Waste Pickup
Yard waste pickup will end this year in Farmington Hills during the week of November 24 - 29. That week includes the Thanksgiving holiday, so there will be no pickup of garbage, recycling or yard waste on Thursday, November 27. Collection will be delayed by one day with Thursday’s collection occurring on Friday, and Friday’s collection occurring on Saturday. Starting December 1, yard waste cannot be picked up in accordance with the City’s refuse contract and Michigan laws governing yard waste disposal. Any accumulated yard waste should be stored until spring pickup resumes in early April 2015. If you have any questions, call the Division of Public Works at 248-871-2850.

Garbage, recycling, and yard waste collection will not be scheduled on Thursday, November 27 due to the Thanksgiving holiday. Garbage pickup will be delayed one day with Thursday’s collection made on Friday and Friday’s collection made on Saturday. Regular pickup will occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday of that week. To ensure pickup, please have your garbage at the curbside by 7 a.m. Please note that yard waste pickup will end during the week of Nov. 24 - 29. Any yard waste accumulated after that week should be stored until spring pickup resumes in early April 2015. If you have questions about garbage, recycling or yard waste collection, call the Division of Public Works at 248-871-2850. 
Kids attending Thanksgiving for NatureNature Center Hosts “Thanksgiving for Nature” Event
The Farmington Hills Nature Center is hosting a special Thanksgiving for Nature event on Saturday, November 22. Kids and adults can drop by the Nature Center anytime between 1 and 4 p.m. The event will feature self-guided scavenger hunts through the trails of Heritage Park. Rapunzel! – A Very Hairy Fairy Tale” will be presented for the first time in this area by the City of Farmington Hills Youth Theatre on November 21 – 23 and again on December 6 – 7 at the Costick Center. Senior CoupleFarmington Hills Center for Active Adults announces November programs
The City of Farmington Hills offers dozens of programs for area adults age 50 and better at the Center for Active Adults, located in the Costick Center on 11 Mile Road between Middlebelt and Inkster. The Center is open Monday – Friday, 9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Lunch is served daily, $2.75 for ages 60 and better, $5 for under 60. November Programs Press Release
