2015 SUMMER TAX BILLS
The City of Farmington Hills 2015 Summer Tax
Bills will be mailed on or about July 1. They are
payable from July 1, 2015 through August 31, 2015
without penalty. Payment must be received by August 31,
postmarks are not accepted. A 4% penalty will be added
starting September 1st along with 1/2% interest per
month. If you do not receive your tax bill by July 15th,
please contact the Treasurer's office at 248-871-2480
By law, failure to receive a tax bill does not waive tax
or penalty. Tax bills are not forwarded by the Post
Office, unless it is a temporary forwarding order only.
The Treasurer's Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to
4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for July 3rd to

Checks are accepted as conditional payment. If checks
are not honored by the bank, taxes are unpaid and
subject to any and all penalties.
Applications for deferment of 2015 summer taxes for
qualified persons are available at the Treasurer's
Office. Applications must be filed by September 15,

in observance of the Independence Day holiday.
There will be NO CHANGE to the garbage schedule due
to the Independence Day holiday since the Fourth of July
falls on a Saturday this year.Regular pickups will occur for

Licensing in the City of Farmington Hills
Please note that staff from the Oakland County Animal
Control and Pet Adoption Center (OCAC/PAC) are currently
doing their annual dog census. Starting in late June, OCAC/PAC
Census team workers have been going door to door in
Farmington Hills to verify compliance with the Michigan
State Dog Law of 1919, which requires all dogs to have a
valid dog license. This law was enacted to ensure that all
dogs have current rabies vaccinations. Oakland County
vigorously enforces the law as part of their pledge to

Your Pre-Schoolers Safe With Safety Town Camp this Summer
The City of Farmington Hills is offering Safety Town, a
safety education program aimed at preschoolers ages four to
six. Children will learn about everyday safety including
pedestrian, motorist, bus, bicycle, fire, water, playground,
stranger safety, and more.

Department Offers CPR and AED Class
The Farmington Hills/Farmington Emergency Preparedness
Commission (EPC), in cooperation with the Farmington Hills
Fire Department, will offer an American Red Cross CPR and
AED (Automated External Defibrillator) class from 5:30 to 9
p.m. on Wednesday, July 22.

Golf League Kicks Off July 10
The Farmington Hills Golf Club will kick off their Junior
Golf League on Friday, July 10. Golfers ages 10 to 16 are
invited to compete in seven matches played on both Mondays
and Fridays for seven weeks, ending with a golf scramble

Department is getting ready for summer with offerings
including day camps, field trips, theatre classes, youth
center activities, and more.

A Special Election has been scheduled for the Clarenceville
School District for August 4, 2015. Please note that for
Farmington Hills, only electors in Farmington Hills Precinct
27 are located within the Clarenceville School District and
are eligible to vote in this Election. The deadline to
register to vote for the August 4, 2015 Special Election is
Monday, July 6, 2015. Please contact the City Clerk's Office

Thursday, June 18 in Farmington Hills. Heritage Park
provides the perfect place for outdoor music with its lovely

Hills Center for Active Adults Announces July programs
The City of Farmington Hills offers dozens of programs for
area adults age 50 and better at the Center for Active
Adults, located in the Costick Center on 11 Mile Road
between Middlebelt and Inkster.

Beautification Commission Awards are presented annually to
businesses, offices, and subdivision or condominium
entrances with attractive and well-maintained landscapes.
Judges visit nominated sites to look for landscape variety,
imaginative use of color, and overall property maintenance.
To nominate your property or any other deserving property,
nomination forms are available below or call the Community
Development Office at 248-871-2543 to have a form faxed or
mailed. Judging takes place during July. Awards will be
presented at the 2015 Beautification Commission Awards
Ceremony on October 22.
